Week #10: TOOLS

September 23, 2012: Curlers

Before and after.  I used these curlers to get these delightful curls. :) Good tools do a good job.

September 24, 2012: Friendship Bread Tools

These are the same tools I use practically every time I make friendship bread, which is practically every 10 days.  Carbs galore if you ask me.  I like how everything is color co-ordinated. :D

September 25, 2012: Tools for the car

Well, maybe not tools exactly, but to an extent!  I got all the lights on that I could.  I mean, the warning lights.  Notice that I did not have my seat belt on, I had the emergency brake engaged, and I also had my brights on.  Exciting times.

September 26, 2012: Tooth tools

Brushing my teeth tools. I love the feeling of my teeth being freshly brushed.  P.S. The Crew hair gel is NOT mine.

September 27, 2012: Canning

I made pear marmalade and canned it.  What a long process.  At least this batch worked.  the orange marmalade I made the other day kinda flopped.  More like orange syrup, "like on hotcakes!"

September 28, 2012: The most amazing thing you will ever taste.

So, I found this recipe online, and it's very similar to a recipe we used to make all the time, but Aimee knew the recipe and I didn't.  Anyways, it's super easy to make and I have to be honest, it's so hard to stop eating them once you have started.  Lay out pretzels on a tin foil lined tray as you see here.  1 tray = 1 recipe.  Heat 1 C. Brown sugar and 1 C. butter in a pan until it's all combined and starts to bubble, then pour and spread it evenly over the pan of pretzels.  Then pop them into a 375 degree over for 5 minutes.  they will get very bubbly.  Pull them out and sprinkle 1 C. chocolate chips over the whole thing.  Put back in the over for 1 minute and then spread out the chocolate chips.  Let cool and break them apart.  We keep them in the refrigerator so they stay a little harder.  Enjoy! :)

September 29, 2012: Setting

I got up at 6AM so I could do a few things before we went to camp to do camp tear down, and I went outside to hang come laundry.  I looked over and realized that the moon was setting.  It looked so beautiful that I had to take a picture, and I am very glad I did so!

Week #9: FALL

September 16, 2012: A Pun'kin

Here we have a beautiful Cinderella pumpkin that our friend grew.  We went over to his garden to pick a bunch of zucchini and tomatoes.  We had a lovely afternoon picking veggies and talking.

September 17, 2012: Fall Supplies

EVERYONE needs projects to do on rainy fall days! My mom and I went to Jo-Ann's store, and I bought all sorts of fun stuff.  Most of it is for gifts and such, but I'm enjoying using it for those projects just the same as if they were for me! Perhaps even more-so. :)

September 18, 2012: A Fall Sunrise

I get up early for work, and THIS is what I get to see.  the sunrise shining in through my window.  Beautiful isn't it?

September 19, 2012: Friends, Fellowship and Fun!

A couple old friends of my parents came over for the evening and to spend the night, and became new friends to us kids!

September 20, 2012: Pears

I made these pear things for dessert, and they tasted amazing.  They looked funny though, and not at all how they were supposed to look.  Taste is all that really matters though!

September 21, 2012: Sunset

 Just another fall sunset.

September 22, 2012: Oops

I forgot to take a picture for fall on the first day of fall.  Sad times.  I took ONE picture though! This is what I see when I open my eyes and look straight up at night.

Week #8: THE KITCHEN

September 9, 2012: A mirror

While we were driving home from church we saw that a lady had driven off the road.  We ended up stopping and not doing a whole lot to help, cause they had it pretty well taken care of.  My mom and dad got to chat with some neighbors though!

September 10, 2012: Raspberry filling

"Well would you look at that? Just look at it!" I actually took a picture that relates to this weeks topic!  I took a good number of them actually!  I made a raspberry filling for some little turnover thingys I made.  It was delicious!

September 11, 2012: S'more Crescent Rolls

I made crescent roll dough and put marshmallows and chocolate chips inside.  They were super great! At least, I really enjoyed them. :)

September 12, 2012: "Hot bread!"

I made bread.  This turned out to be the best bread I've made all summer!!! So light and fluffy and amaaaaaazing! So yeah, I took a picture of it. :)

September 13, 2012: Can you guess what this is?

Yooooou guessed it! It's a polar bear in a snow storm!!! ;) Yeah, I missed taking a picture this day cause I got to go on a Rock-N-Water trip! It was a lot of fun, but I was very tired afterwards.

September 14, 2012: A Kitchen!

Oh look, a kitchen during kitchen week! DUH! This is the kitchen that I spend so much time in during April and May! Great memories. :)

September 15, 2012: A Skunk

I was driving home from working in a kitchen, and I saw this skunk in the road! It was so annoying.  It kept running along the road for at least 100 feet! It wouldn't get off the road, and I couldn't just pass it cause I didn't want it to spray me.  So yeah, I took a picture of it. :) Yeah, I know it's blurry, but this was the only picture I got. ;)
