Week #5: DEFEAT

August 19: Someone had to lose. AKA Defeat

Playing volleyball in the pool is SO hard, but very fun when you have enough people.

August 20: *huge smiley face*

It was Caela's birthday, but since she lives in a different state we spent the afternoon at Lake Tahoe with some friends.  A stop at the gas station on the way up + a generous brother = a cold drink. Got to video Skype with Caela and had a great convo! :)

August 21: A sunset is and is not defeat.

One of my favorite things to do during sunset is watch the bats flitting around catching bugs.

August 22: Felt defeated by the amount of cleaning needing to be done.

As of yesterday I was 95% done though, so I guess I should feel pretty good about that.

August 23: Jump and move it!

The boys had fun jumping so I could capture them in the air.

August 24: Defeat
Pretty self explanatory.  I actually thought of a song we had with the word "defeat" in it.  Pretty sweet eh?

August 25: What defeat?

I found this old VHS.  I took a picture cause I have so many memories of the book of virtues!

Week #4: PEACE

August 12: Peace with where I am.

No matter how much I want to be someplace else at random times of day, I love where I am.  Mostly because I know it is where God wants me right now.  Someday I will be called away, but right now I'm happy here.

August 13: A peaceful sunset.  Beautiful.

This sunset cause my attention.  It looked so amazing! I loved seeing the rays of sun coming out behind the clouds.  It made me think about how, in life, some of the most beautiful sunsets are those covered with clouds.  In the same way, some of the best moments in life might be "marred" by sadness.

August 14: The peace of a baby

Took this picture at the baby shower for this adorable baby and his twin sister.  They were so cute, and I thought about how peaceful the life of a baby would be.  Of course, there are times when they cry a lot, but who cares?

August 15: The peace of not putting a terrible picture on the internet.  The only picture I took on the 15th was a picture of myself with grapes in my teeth to send to a friend.  Yeas, I know, weird, but that's me! So, I will not be putting a picture on for this day. :)

August 16: A piece of mail (I know, peace isn't spelled that way) ;)

My beautiful little sister had a birthday and so I made this cute card for her.  I was so happy with how it turned out!!!

August 17: A peaceful evening as a family.

This didn't look too good to eat, but good enough to take a picture of it! ;)

August 18: The paint looks peaceful, eh?

Tim has been doing a lot of messing around with the airbrush he got for his birthday.  He does beautiful work when he puts his mind to it!

I Think This Is For The Best

So, I am kind of turning this into more of a picture a day blog.  Sometimes I lack inspiration for these weeks, or I kjust don't have the right materials (i.e. this current week is supposed to be sunsets, but these are not the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen, while last week was AMAZING.)

So, there you have it.  I'll still say what the theme was that week and you'll be able to tell if the picture doesn't really fit. ;)

Week #3: SHADOW

August 5: Shadow?

There is not much of a shadow about this picture, but I found it to be hilarious that this Muscle MILK contains NO milk.  Shopping for a friends visit when I saw this junk, and it made me laugh.

August 6: Flower Shadows

The shadows in this picture made me smile, and I thought this was a very cool photo-op.  I love these flowers, and I love the yellow wall behind them, and I just loved this day.  No shadow on my mind.

August 7: Reflect on this  shadow
Unfortunately, my picture for August 7th would not load.  So annoying.

August 8: Nananananananana BATMAN!

Not really the signal for batman, but I thought this would be a cool picture.  It didn't work as well as Iwanted it to, but at least I got this! :)

August 9: Colored Shadows

I like this picture! I remembered having some cool colored cups at a party a while ago, and then I found we didn't have any colored cups to take pictures of. So, I put coloring in theseclear cups and got colored shadows!!

August 10: Stargazing

I wanted to take some pictures of the stars the other evening when we were sleeping out under the stars.  Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to work the camera, or, I wasn't able to remember how to mark it, so this was the terrible picture I got.  Oh well.

August 11: Stars (not shadows)

I liked the stars better than a shadow.  These pictures are with our large Nikon camera.  It was pretty fun taking these pictures and we stayed up pretty late.  Well, this is what the picture looked like in the preview window, and the picture below is what it looked like in Picasa.  If you look carefully, you can see a shooting star in the bottom left side.  This was the reason we had stayed out, to watch the meteor shower. :)

Look in the bottom right quarter and you can see the big dipper!

Week #2: WATER

Water, a fitting subject for the end of July.  It's been hot, way hot.  I almost forget to take pictures on a couple days (Okay, so I forgot one day, but it was okay because I had taken a picture on my phone that fit the category) :P

July 29, 2012: WATERing the plants
Here we have our hose.  It was hot.  The Plants were hot and needed a drink.  Because the hose had been sitting in the sun for the day, the water IN the hose was hot.  So what I did was run the water until the hose was filled with fresh cool(er) water.  SO I took the picture while it was cooling off.

July 30, 2012: CHICK!
This little chicky hatched and Sean had to get water for it.  This is the day I forgot to actually take a picture, but I had actually taken this one, and it fit cause the chick needed water, so I'm gonna go with it. :D
July 31, 2012: WATER in the pool.
We played water volleyball for a while in the pool with Brian and Aimee, and I thought I'd take a picture of it. The pool that is.

August 1, 2012: Water Skimmers?
These yellow jackets were landing on the water and then taking off again.  Maybe you knew it, but I had no idea that they could do that! I found it to be amazing.

August 2, 2012: Sugar Water
Mom and I were looking at the water feature Nick made and we noticed a hummingbird, so I thought I'd refill the hummingbird feeders with sugar WATER.  This picture also shows Aimee and Brian's car.  It's not nearly as full in this picture as it was when they left!

August 3, 2012: Washing Dishes
I know, it's not the most amazing picture ever, but this was basically my day.  I wasn't washing dishes all day of course, but cleaning.  I finished cleaning the sink and took a picture.  Cause a clean sink is pretty nice.

August 4, 2012: Water?
It was overcast all day while we helped at a wedding.  It looked like it might rain when we got home.  Water from the sky! But, it has not rained.  We'll see if it does later tonight. :)

Okay, one full week.  Yay! :)
